Athletes must obtain strong organizational skills in order to balance their training schedules with their academic schedules. Balancing school, sports, and a social life is difficult for many people. Student athletes have to manage their time in order to get their schoolwork done before practices and games.
A day in the life of a student athlete can consist of:
- Practice
- Recovery
- Tape
- Ice & Heat
- Working with Trainers
- Physical Therapy
- Lift
- Conditioning
- School
All of this takes up a large part of their day so they need to manage their time wisely in order to have free time for social events.
Having good time management is something that student athletes can use in the future with their jobs and social lives. This is one advantage that athletes have over normal students because they know how to manage their time to be efficient.
